About me
I am an elementary education major at Seminole State College on track of transferring to the University of Central Florida. I anticipate graduating in 2017 with future plans of obtaining a masters in literacy or reading. I am extremely dedicated to this profession and feel quite passionately about it as well, especially when it comes to the younger, elementary grade levels. When I begin my actual teaching profession, I wish to work in a title I school so I can help the less fortunate students from poor homes and areas. I feel that these are the students that need a strong, caring, passionate teacher, like the one I aim to be, the most.
I live for the "epiphany" moments in education. These are the moments where a child hears a new concept for the first time, or when the light bulb finally goes off for a subject he/ she is struggling with. I may not be in a real classroom on a daily basis, but I do work with a group of elementary kids - kindergarten through fourth grade twice a week at my church. Although the content is obviously different, I still have to teach the kid proper classroom etiquette, how to work well in groups, work on reading and auditory comprehension, reflection of learned information, and of course, actually teach the lesson plan.
I cannot wait for my life as a teacher to officially start!
